The Silex DS-700AC is designed to connect and share USB devices over a wireless network easily. Printers, scanners, disk drives, card readers, or virtually any other USB device can now be enabled with wireless network connectivity. It allows flexibility to place the USB device anywhere on the network instead of being attached directly to the computer, and multiple users can access the USB device. USB device connectivity over wireless network Enterprise security for Wi-Fi network The DS-700AC supports Wi-Fi WPA3-Enterprise security. The latest Wi-Fi security can protect the wireless network. It also supports legacy Wi-Fi security such as WPA/WPA2-Enterprise. For personal use, it supports WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal, too. Equipment sharing from two different networks Office equipment deployed in a network now can join another network keeping two networks still isolated. The DS-700AC can convert a USB device port of the equipment to the wireless network port. High data bandwidth The DS-700AC USB 3 SuperSpeed port provides higher bandwidth over gigabit Ethernet LAN than the legacy USB 2.0 device server. Standard TCP/IP printing (LPR/RAW) support The DS-700AC operates as the print server when a printer is connected. The print server supports Raw printing mode and LPR, which are popular network printing protocols. SX virtual link SX Virtual Link is software to access USB devices attached to the USB device server over the network. The software allows users to request other users to release the shared USB device when they want to use it. It allows compatible printers, multifunction devices, document scanners, industrial cameras, hard drives, RDX drives, USB flash drives and many other USB peripherals to be positioned independently of the connected computer and shared by multiple users. Using Silex USB Virtual Link technology and the SX Virtual Link software, a network-connected USB device behaves as if it were connected directly to the user's computer. Existing USB device drivers and application software can therefore continue to be used without modification. Users can remotely connect to or disconnect from USB devices, while a disconnect request can be sent if a required device is currently in use by another user. The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface and Gigabit Ethernet connection provide the bandwidth required for data-intensive applications such as high-speed document scanning and access to external storage devices. A separate USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port expands compatibility with legacy peripherals and supported USB hubs. For use in professional and enterprise environments, the DS-600 supports IEEE 802.1X authentication with EAP-TLS, PEAP and EAP-TTLS. AES-256 encryption helps protect data transmitted over the network, while individual USB connection passwords control access to connected devices. Additional functionality includes isochronous transfer for compatible real-time USB equipment, an integrated LPR/RAW print server and NAS access to compatible FAT-formatted storage media. The energy-saving ECO mode automatically disables USB bus power after a defined period of inactivity and restores it when the device is used again.
